WE"RE GETTING MARRIED!
Please help us with our summer dream wedding!
Hello, My name is Caleb Eubanks, I am trying to raise around $5,000 so that I can give my fiancé a beautiful wedding and a ring that she deserves! I currently work a part time job doing sound and audio as well as run a home EBay business that sells new and used clothing. I’m trying my best to make as much money as possible, but I really need your help so that we can get married this summer! The average wedding costs $17,000 they say, but I think we can get by for a lot cheaper. We are looking for more of an elopement style wedding since only my parents would be available to attend. Still unsure of the exact location, depending on how much money is raised, we would like to be near the coast if possible.
What we are trying to do with $5,000:
- Wedding Dress/Tuxedo
- Marriage License
- Ring for Her
- Elopement Package
- Travel Expenses
- Get married this summer!
A Short Summary of my Dream Girl
During my senior year of high school I met the most awe-inspiring, most beautiful girl I’d ever seen from Russia! It was 2006 and I was at the Lincoln airport as part of a school ambassador program, the previous year I had been an exchange student host but this year I was just helping. It took only a moment, as the first time I looked upon her face I was struck with her beauty and grace. Now remember I was in high school and had no idea what my life had in store for me.. What I did know, is that the first time I ever saw Kristina my heart did as all cliché movies say.. it “skipped a beat”! Like, Really! I was hooked on her energy and I spent the next several days trying my hardest to get her attention. After a few talks, a few walks, a trip to the mall and flower gardens I eventually got a moment to tell her how she struck me so powerfully! I still remember our first kiss and how shy I was before and after giving it. I have always been a shy person, but something about the thought of her not knowing how I felt was too much, and I just had to kiss her! She only had a few weeks in the states and I grew mad thinking of how she was going to have to leave. It wasn’t fair.. I met the girl of my dreams and she has to go over a thousand miles away. I was desperate to show her how I felt. My last token was to get her and I ‘Best friends forever’ bracelets. I knew it was cheesy but I wanted her and I to have something to share together while we were apart, and to this day we still have our bracelets!!
Years passed and we would email and skype now and then, but it wasn’t until June of 2011 that Kristina had arrived in Chicago, IL as part of a work and travel program in Russia! The first time I would get to see her in over 5 years! She had three months to live and work in the windy city and I made sure to visit as soon as I possibly could! My first visit was in June and I have a video of that trip available. I spent 9 hours driving from Lincoln, NE to Chicago, IL and I could not get there fast enough! I was so excited to see the girl that had originally taken my breath away all those years earlier! Once I arrived I jumped out of my car and threw my arms around her! She was stunning! Just stunning!! I was literally shaking I was so excited and happy that the moment had come to me at last. We were up all night talking and sharing our excitement. After a week I had to go back to work and had already planned to visit again when with tears in my eyes I said goodbye. I wasn’t happy without her and soon again I was back in Chicago. Now I have to say the way I feel around Kristina is easily the best a man can feel. I am not only happy, but motivated and inspired to be better than I would be myself. I knew that something had to be done or I would again be in a similar situation as I was in 2006. This was not an option. After leaving to go back to work a second time I made the decision to propose! I knew in my heart that I had always wanted to be with her and that something supernatural feeling was between us. My heart speaks clearly to my mind and it told me very straight forward to ask her to be my wife! I made a video explaining my plan to propose and put my heart on the line. This I sent to her parents so that I could get the preapproval one desperately seeks for when asking a parent for their daughter’s hand! During my 3rd trip that summer to Chicago I finally asked Kristina to marry me! It was late night, early morning, in the middle of a large park. She said ‘Yes’! We held each other and prayed to God to help us, to hold us, to give us strength when things get tough. (God has held his word J) Still our trials had just begun and even after spending a few weeks with me in my hometown she had no choice but to go back to Russia. Visa laws are very strict and if you break them it is even more difficult to travel and to get into America from Russia.
We spent 9 months communicating through phone, texts, and the internet. Now that I have experienced it I can say, long distance relationships are hard! I missed her every day, and nothing but her voice could make me feel ok. I know that the only reason we were able to make it through is because of God’s love for us, and our love for each other.
After being accepted again for another Work & Travel program Kristina and I crossed our fingers and against all odds she was finally authorized for another visit to the states! On June 26th, 2012 I picked up Kristina from Chicago O’Hare Airport. I remember how she was sitting on the bench, relaxing with her eyes closed, she was so beautiful, so incredibly stunning. I walked right over to her, knelt down and kissed her on the lips before she could even open her eyes. Luckily she knew it was me and without skipping a beat she flung her arms around me and we had the most beautiful embrace. Only a few moments later I realized that I had left my keys in my car while it was running… Not only that but I was in the no parking area.. Thanks to the Airport Security team, they had my door opened in a matter of 15 minutes and we were on our way to our summer apartment in Chicago.
Since Kristina was in Chicago to work, I had signed up and been accepted into a CELTA course (Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults) which would last a little over a month. My Mom helped me a lot and helped pay my tuition so that I could go, it was about $3,000. I passed with a strong grade! After 3 months of living, working, and going to school in Chicago, Kristina and I waved goodbye to expensive rent and moved to Springfield, MO to live with my Mother and sisters temporarily.
As it was Kristina would have to go back to Russia because her Visa was about to expire, we talked about a lot of things but education was something she wanted here, she applied and was accepted to MSU, thousands of dollars and many headaches and paper packets later she had gotten her status changed and would be starting school in the spring of 2013 thus allowing her to stay until she has her degree which will be her second Bachelors. In January of 2013 we got an apartment together and that is where I am today, writing this while Kristina is at MSU taking her last exam of the quarter. So far she is a 4.0 student and I am so proud of how well she does at everything she puts herself into.
We would love to get married this summer so that we can begin planning our lives in more detailed areas, after we are married and Kristina is finished with her second degree I would love to visit Russia so that I can use my CELTA and become a teacher as well as learn to speak Russian fluently. Our dreams continue to grow and expand but we know the first step now is to tie the knot! If you’d like to see our videos please visit the Gallery page as well.
Although our story is much bigger than I could ever write in these few paragraphs, I pray that others will see our hearts and help us to have a summer wedding! Not everyone has extra money to give to strangers, we know that. We simply pray that whoever should be able and willing to give will be the ones to help. Thank you so much for taking your time to read our continuing story. We accept prayers as well as any support anyone is willing to give in any way. God Bless you all!
**PS If you’d like to help but you’d like something in return, buying from our ebay store still helps us with our goal! (http://stores.ebay.com/CK-Love-Panda) Thanks again!
